Bio:


Peter S. Liebert, M.D., MBA is a board-certified pediatric surgeon with a practice in Westchester County, NY and Greenwich, CT. He regularly evaluates infants, children, and adolescents with potential problems in general surgery and operates on those requiring surgical correction. General pediatric surgical problems include hernias (inguinal, umbilical, epigastric, and femoral), intestinal problems, pyloric stenosis, simple and complicated cysts (pilonidal and thyroglossal), undescended testis, newborn congenital abnormalities, tumors, and head and neck problems. Dr. Liebert is an expert in chest deformities in children and has pioneered in the performance of the Nuss minimally-invasive correction of pectus excavatum.

He trained in general surgery at the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital in Boston and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in Pediatric Surgery. In the past he has served as Chief of Pediatric Surgery at Stamford Hospital. He is past President of the Westchester County Medical Society and currently serves as Chairman of the Finance Committee. He is also president of the Westchester Surgical Society. A physician member of the Westchester County Board of Health, he is Chairman of its Nominating Committee. He is the sole author of two editions of a standard textbook, “The Color Atlas of Pediatric Surgery” and was a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Pediatric Surgery for 20 years.

Dr. Liebert is a graduate of Princeton University (A.B. Cum Laude) and the Harvard Medical School (MD). He has recently achieved an MBA, with Honors, in Finance and Health Care Management, from Iona College; he has been appointed an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Management at Iona and participates in the teaching of a graduate course in Population Health.
